"For me this is a way of 'dreaming' myself away, and getting a deeper connection to nature as well as my heritage."

About Espen

Where are you from and where do you currently live?

I was born in the city of Stavanger and grew up in Sandnes on the southwest coast of Norway. I currently live in Jørpeland, about an hour away, in the mountains.

How would you describe yourself in a few words?

Creative, friendly, curious.

What fascinates you about the world of the Middle Ages / Viking Age?

I’m fascinated by how disconnected this era was from today’s technological world. For me, it’s an opportunity to “unplug” and gain a deeper connection with nature and my own roots.

Do you have a favourite character or setting you like to immerse yourself in?

To explore myself and my abilities, I enjoy stepping into characters that present a challenge and are simply fun to portray. I create my own content on sets that appear as if they were from the 21st century.

How did you first hear about Leonardo Carbone?

At the beginning of 2021, a friend made me aware of Leonardo Carbone, and I’ve been working with them ever since.

What do you particularly like about Leonardo Carbone’s clothing and style?

I love that there are so many designs to choose from, so everyone can find something that fits their desired look.

What is your favourite piece from Leonardo Carbone?

I really like the Viking Tunic “Freydis” and the Viking Tunic “Erik” — they have the perfect length for the look I usually go for.
I also love the short-sleeved “Theobald” tunics, which are ideal for hot summer days.

What does it mean to you to be a Leonardo Carbone ambassador?

What I especially value as a Leonardo Carbone ambassador is that I have the freedom to create content that I enjoy and that reflects me — and hopefully inspires others. I also hope to draw inspiration from other ambassadors.
I wish that one day there will be a big ambassador gathering where we all drink mead together and create content.
